As part of his philanthropic gesture in memory of his late father, Kabiyesi Anthony Olukayode Akinrinade, Prince Akintoye Akinrinade has commissioned the donation of 25 units of 1000-watt LED solar street lights to the Agbado community.
The commissioning ceremony was graced by a diverse group of dignitaries, including the Church Venerable, the People’s Warden, other officiating ministers, representatives from the Chief Imam’s office, the Chief Missionary, Muslim community leaders, the Agbado Council of Chiefs, Baales, members of the Agbado Youth Forums, Community Development Councils, Agbado community leaders, and representatives from the Federal Road Safety Corps.
During the event, Mrs. Faith Akinrinade, the wife of the late Kabiyesi Adetunji Anthony Akinrinade, and mother of Prince Akintoye Olusola Akinrinade, highlighted the deep love her late husband had for his children, emphasizing that the donation was a reflection of his legacy of prioritizing community welfare.
Chief Ayoke Agboke, the Iyalode General of Agbado and its environs, expressed optimism that the donated streetlights would enhance economic activities in the area.
She disclosed that the late Kabiesi had expressed his confidence in Prince Akintoye by taking him to the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland to claim his crown, underscoring the community’s unwavering support for the prince.
Also speaking on the gesture, the FRSC commander of the Agbado station, Meeme acknowledged the benevolence of Prince Akintoye, suggesting it was indicative of the late Kabiesi’s virtues.
He extended prayers for the family and encouraged them to uphold the late Kabiesi’s legacy.
High Chief Olufemi praised the significant impact the Akinrinade family has had on the community, emphasizing that the legacy of Kabiyesi Adetunji Anthony Akinrinade lives on.
He reminisced about the Kabiesi’s role in appointing him as a Baale in Agbado and offered heartfelt prayers for the family.
Addressing the community, Prince Akintoye Akinrinade, who currently resides in London, urged the youth of Agbado, both at home and Diaspora, to remember their roots and actively contribute to the development of their community.
This donation not only enhances the safety and aesthetics of Agbado but also stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of Kabiyesi Anthony Olukayode Akinrinade and the continued commitment of his family to the community’s growth and well-being.
